First week at college, most parents are proud. To the unfortunate ones ,they don’t give a fuck. Doesn’t matter how great you are at something, nothing is ever enough. They show no interest, doesn’t matter if your stressed, under pressure , everything is always a disapproval. The sentence ” I’m so proud of you ” will never leave their mouth. They’re furious when one little thing goes wrong, because your such a disappointment to them. And they wonder why we’re so broken, carry ourselves as if we’re afraid to love, afraid to open up to the world because of people like you who some what raised us and call yourselfs parents.

I’ll never ever follow your footsteps, because i know i’ll leave behind better footsteps for my children then you ever did for me. Thank you for teaching me to be anything else but this, i’m still learning to be strong to stand on my own not because i’m choosing to but because i don’t have a choice.
